The Bible in 90 Days - Day 10

 Day 10 (Lev. 26:27 – Num. 8:14)  God’s Redemption

 Leviticus 27:28-29 (NIV)

28 “‘But nothing that a person owns and devotes to the LORD—whether a human being or an animal or family land—may be sold or redeemed; everything so devoted is most holy to the LORD.  29 “‘No person devoted to destruction may be ransomed; they are to be put to death.

Redemption in the bible refers to liberation. God educates humanity about his nature and relationship with us through history, which begins "in the beginning."  The Hebrew term refers to the irrevocable giving over of things or persons to the LORD, often by totally destroying them. Vows can be redeemed.

Some things belong only to God (the firstborn) and cannot be redeemed. As Christians we have been redeemed
from sin and death by the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Eventually we would come to realize that when we are sincere, God forgives totally.
