The Bible in 90 Days - Day 16

Day 16 - Strength & Courage - (Jos. 1:1 – Jos. 14:15) 

Joshua 1:6-9 (NKJV)

⁶ Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. ⁷ Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. ⁸ This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. ⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

The Lord our God wants us to always be strong. He wants us to know that he is always with us, he is our strength in times of trouble. He is our calm when the storm is raging. He wants us to not falter, never to waiver under pressure. He is always walking with us, carrying us when we feel the load is too heavy or the burden too much to bear. 

God wants us to stand firm in the face of adversity, looking always to him for our strength. He is our peace when war is waging around us. We should always know that no matter what the situation our God is in control. He knows the outcome before the scenario has even begun. He heals us when our heart is broken. He redeems us when we have been wronged. 

 His only request of us is that we follow his commands. We must keep them in our heart. This is the only way to remember them both day and night. We must constantly mediate on his name. We should be forever thanking and praising him for his mercy and grace. This is the way to stay courageous in the face of the enemy. 

 Can you be strong and courageous? Can you be a soldier in the army of the Lord? Will you fight for the kingdom?
