Day 24 – Prayer of Blessings

(2 Sam. 22:19 – 1 Kings 7:37)

1 Kings 3:5-6 (NKJV)

5 At Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask! What shall I give you?”

1 Kings 3:7-9 (NKJV)

7 Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. 8 And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. 9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

If the Lord said to you “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.” What would you pray for?

With all the sorrow in the world, would you pray for peace? What about prosperity so you could help all the needy people you know? How about forgiveness for yourself or someone else’s pain? Would you ask the Lord for wisdom as Solomon did so that you could help those who need someone to talk to?

Perhaps you never thought that helping others would enhance your own life. Have you ever thought that blessing someone else might bring a blessing upon you and yours?

Do you realize that your prayer determines your blessing according to the will of the Lord?

When you pray, try asking the Lord for guidance and understanding so that you may make a difference in the lives of all those you come in contact with on a daily basis. See how this type of prayer changes your life. You might be amazed at the blessings that come your way.

Follow the Journey.
